HOM 1: Delivering new homes. New homes will be delivered to achieve the housing target of 24,253 as set out in Strategic Policy 1: Spatial strategy. Housing will be delivered on housing allocations set out in HOM 2a, in Predominantly Residential Areas and the town,
district and local centres as defined on the Policies Map.
To meet this target the council will seek to deliver housing at the following trajectory of requirement (allows for rounding):
2026-31 – an average of 1,347 dwellings per annum
2031-36 – an average of 2,137 dwellings per annum
2036-42 – an average of 1,139 dwellings per annum
