The draft Spatial Options and Policy Direction (Regulation 18) Local Plan sets out that the housing requirement for the district is likely to be around 1,250 dwellings per annum (‘dpa’). This is based on the standard method calculation, adjusted to account for the New Forest National Park. To put the figure into context, the housing requirement in the existing Local Plan ranges from 300 dpa between 2021-27 to 700 dpa between 2027-36.
