THREE OPTIONS IN REG 18 DOCUMENT JUNE 2025. Option 1: Plan to meet the district’s housing need as calculated under the Standard method – 605 dpa (total 12,100)
Option 2: Plan for less than the district’s housing need as calculated under the Standard method – e.g. to align with trend based projections of population and household growth, which is also the current Local Plan target - 330 dpa (total 6,600) (noting that a successful case to adopt a target lower than the standard method would depend on a robust evidence base around a lack of capacity (and no suitable mitigation) in the district to meet the identified need.)
Option 3: Plan for more than the district’s housing need as calculated under the new Standard method – e.g. up to 900 dpa (total 18,000)
