The total estimate of 14,660 homes from Scenario 5 would provide a housing land supply that is 79% of the 18,650 housing target calculated using the government’s
‘standard method’. Realistically, around 20% fewer homes may be delivered during the Local Plan period, meaning only about 11,730 homes are expected.
The Council will need to ask neighbouring authorities whether they could accommodate some of the unmet need. The Council would then set a housing requirement in its Local Plan that shows the amount of housing that could be delivered in the Cotswold District.
