Core Policy 2: Meeting Housing Needs in Cotswold District –
Strategic Allocations
The housing requirement for the Cotswold District is for
17,918 homes to be delivered in the Plan period between
2026 and 2043.
The Plan makes provision for at least 18,877 dwellings by
2043 in the interest of providing for some flexibility and
contingency.
Around 11,302 dwellings will be delivered through ten
new strategic allocations and one Local Plan 2011-2031
Saved Allocation. Additionally, a further 1,434 dwellings
will be delivered through non-strategic allocations (shown
by Core Policy 3). Additional dwellings will also be delivered through Neighbourhood Development Plans or through the Development Management Process (including windfalls).
